Giving recognition and tuition awards to high school baseball players who exemplify a spirit of service to others and determination to succeed.
This scholarship is given in memory of Charles Longen, Sr. (1910-1977).
Born in Clifton Heights, PA and a long time resident of Collingdale, PA, Charles, Sr. was an avid baseball fan and played in the Delco League in the 1930s. His son Charlie Longen, Jr. is the owner of Longen Group, LLC., an independent insurance agency headquartered in Kennett Square, PA. Although Charlie lost his father unexpectedly one year after graduating from Monsignor Bonner High School, he credits his father’s devotion to family and support of his Catholic education to his success today.
This scholarship was first awarded in 2022. For the 2025-2026 school year we are expanding our scholarship to support a total of 3 student athletes who are currently enrolled at Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School located in Drexel Hill, PA.
We are grateful for our success in insurance giving us the opportunity to support Charles Longen, Jr.’s high school alma mater where he devoted many years to coaching high school baseball.
