Charlie Longen is the founder and owner of Longen Group, LLC, an independent insurance agency serving businesses and individuals throughout Chester County, Pennsylvania, southeastern Pennsylvania, northern Delaware, and New Jersey. With more than 40 years of insurance industry experience, Charlie has built a reputation for trusted advice, personalized service, and customized coverage solutions that help clients protect what matters most.
Today, Charlie works alongside his son, Connor Longen, combining decades of industry expertise with a modern, client-focused approach. Together, they are committed to delivering exceptional customer service, building lasting client relationships, and helping clients make informed insurance decisions with confidence.
Charlie founded Longen Group with a simple mission: to make buying and managing insurance straightforward, efficient, and accessible while providing the personal attention every client deserves. His long-standing relationships with leading national and regional insurance carriers enable Longen Group to compare coverage options from multiple companies and recommend solutions tailored to each client’s unique needs and budget.
Longen Group proudly serves clients throughout Chester County, including Kennett Square, Exton, and Chester Springs, where the agency maintains local offices. The agency also provides insurance services throughout Delaware County, Montgomery County, Berks County, Lancaster County, and communities across southeastern Pennsylvania, northern Delaware, including Hockessin, and New Jersey.

Charlie’s success with Longen Group builds on decades of proven leadership in the insurance industry. Before founding Longen Group, he established AIS Insurance Group, Inc. in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, in 1990 and served as its CEO for 30 years. Under his leadership, the agency grew from offering primarily auto insurance into a full-service independent insurance agency providing comprehensive commercial and personal insurance solutions.
Earlier in his career, Charlie was a Registered Representative with The Prudential Insurance Company, where he developed expertise in financial services, insurance planning, and client risk management.
Throughout his career, Charlie has helped businesses and individuals identify potential risks, protect their assets, and develop insurance strategies that support their long-term goals. His extensive experience in risk management, commercial insurance, and personal insurance continues to be the foundation of the trusted advice and personalized service Longen Group provides today.
Charlie has devoted more than 40 years to youth sports. Currently he is Varsity Assistant Coach of Baseball at Friends’ Central School. He has also coached varsity baseball at Archbishop Carroll High School and Monsignor Bonner-Prendergast High School. Prior to that he coached at Newtown Edgmont Little League and Broomall Newtown Babe Ruth. In addition, he was a referee for Philadelphia Catholic League Football for 17 years. He is a former member of the Advisory Board at Bonner Prendergast High School.
Charlie is a member of the Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce and the Oxford Area Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research. He has been a member of IA&B for many years.
Whether in coaching or through his businesses, Charlie is always encouraging students and young professionals to develop goals and strive to do their best. Over the years he has provided internships and jobs to students and young professionals, including several former student athletes. Charlie enjoys helping young people gain experience in the insurance business.
Charlie was raised in Collingdale, PA and currently resides in Newtown Square.
