Community Briefs: Bonner grad awards high school scholarship in honor of his late father

“NEWTOWN  — Charlie Longen Jr. of Newtown Square, a member of St. Anastasia Parish and longtime resident of Delaware County, has created a scholarship in memory of his late father for secondary school baseball players who attend Catholic high schools in the region.  Longen grew up in Collingdale, graduated from Monsignor Bonner in 1976, and then worked night shift  at the Acme warehouse in Philadelphia for eight years while putting himself and his sister through Saint Joseph University.  He graduated with a degree in finance and founded a successful insurance agency, AIS Insurance Group Inc., an independent insurance agency headquartered in Malvern.”
